(Port) Wine of the month April 2020: Quinta dos Lagares Vintage Port 2016

Welcome to Vintage Port! Pedro and Isabel Lencart do produce Douro DOCs for some years, but they are new to Vintage Port. Slightly above famous Quinta do Noval the focus more and more on prestigious wines and now Port: Deep dark red color with medium intensive reflections. Seductive bouquet with floral and fruity notes of cassis, raspberry, cherry and some smoky notes in the finish. Balanced and complex palate with very good supporting acidity, red-berry fruit and a soft and ripe tannic structure. Long and very nicely structured aftertaste. 18/20
